Calligraphy and the lettering arts enhance life with beauty, artistic satisfaction and useful skill, as well as delightful connections to art, literature, design, and other cultures.

For more than 30 years, the Triangle Calligraphers’ Guild (TCG) has promoted the lettering arts here in the Triangle area and eastern North Carolina. Our members are calligraphers with all levels of interest and skill, from beginners and dabblers to part-time artists and full-time pros, and we all learn from each other.

Our Purpose:

  • Facilitate the calligrpahic growth of our members
  • Educate the general public about our art form

We welcome new members of every level of proficiency or experience. We are a non-profit organization, and all dues and contributions are tax deductible. Learn more about the organization.

What We Do at TCG

  • Monthly meetings September through May.
  • Special summer workshops and events.
  • Other TCG events also take place during the year.
  • Middle schoolers who are interested in calligraphy are welcome to attend meetings accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Guild members receive timely announcements for meetings and evetns, as well as discounts on workshops and TCG-sponsored events. Members also keep each other informed about classes, exhibits and other opportunities.

Beyond regular TCG meetings and activities, our Guild works with the Carolina Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) to provide workshops with nationally and internationally known lettering and book artists at locations around the state. CLAS membership is required to attend these events.

Whatever your areas of focus, level of proficiency or experience, we invite you to find out more about the Triangle Calligraphers’ Guild by being a guest at our next meeting.
