13 April 2003 Thanks to each of you for supporting AGM 2003 April 4,5 and 6th. We were truly blessed to be able to spend a weekend with the great and delightful Sheila Waters. I want to take this opportunity to thank my fellow TCG Host Committee members who worked so hard over the past year to make it happen. Don King - who created the AGM logo, made our beautiful name badges, made the map we provided in the Confirmation package, volunteered to teach the Friday afternoon Italic refresher, oversaw the Goccoing of the Goody bags and the Oops towels, used his influence to get the Page Walker as our venue (not an easy thing to do), contributed several pieces of his art work to fill out the Art Exhibit, and a thousand other things. Dara Linn - who was always there when decisions had to be made, who became the new owner of a Gocco machine just in time to create the goody bags, who served as Sheila's hostess, took care of the printing of the announcement and all of Sheila's handouts, helped to wrestle the tables and chairs into place, handled the Art Exhibit and Sale (still in progress at this time), managed the Saturday and Sunday lunch orders, arranged for the Saturday evening dinner, and was always asking "is there anything else I can do?" Sharon McGreevey - was new to the AGM business, but took on the huge and sometimes thankless job of managing the goody bags. Carol Reaves - who served as registrar, mailed out the announcements, hand addressed and mailed the confirmation packages, and did a wonderful job of keeping track of the registrations as they were received. She and I were on the phone a lot during those last few weeks. When I volunteered TCG to host the AGM she was one of the first to say "I want to help" Everyone named above contributed a lot of time and energy to the AGM project and attended several evening meetings. In addition Ellen Holding - created the announcement Glennis DeBra - provided the coffee and delicious baked goodies that we enjoyed Saturday and Sunday. There is one more thing you, the workshop attendees, can do. You can put your newly improved italic hand to work by sending a beautifully addressed thank you note to the manager of the Page Walker who so generously let us have the run of the place for 2-1/2 days. |
