Art Graf Watercolor Graphite

Our wonderful Copperplate Teacher Jessica showed us a real treat during class.
Art Graf Watercolour Graphite. It is powdered graphite. Mix it with water and fill your dip pen with it.
It gives wonderful hairlines with the pointed pen, has a silver looking shine to it and here is the best – you can erase it.

To order it from Paper & Ink Arts, click on the image.

Video: Making Manuscripts

A wondeful video about making manuscripts by the Getty Museum. Don’t miss this!

(Note: Both videos are from the Getty Museum’s YouTube channel, see if you can find the slight differences between the two videos!)

Video from Nov 17, 2010

The HD version, from Jun 17, 2014:

From the YouTube video description provided:

Published on Jun 17, 2014
An illuminated manuscript is a book written and decorated completely by hand. Illuminated manuscripts were among the most precious objects produced in the Middle Ages and the early Renaissance, primarily in monasteries and courts. Society’s rulers–emperors, kings, dukes, cardinals, and bishops–commissioned the most splendid manuscripts.

Gutenberg Bible Paperblank Journal

Wonderful Gutenberg Bible Paperblank Journal Special Edition.

It’s rare in the bookstores and museum shops, but it is wonderful to have as a calligraphy notebook or journal! Some of our members already ordered a whole bunch. It has a good quality and a useful pouch in the back. A wonderful present for a fellow calligrapher! It only comes in a ruled version, though.

You can order it here.
